Google will open their first offline store in the Dublin. The internet giant decides to move from the virtual into the real world. The move was quite unexpected since at the present time the only non-virtual item that Google could sell are the android smartphones. But judging by the fact that all other innovations in the company were quite successful we can surely expect that this new venture will bring more dividends into the Google treasury. Ireland always loves to accept new American investments, therefore the project was quickly approved by the municipal council in the capital city. The plans are to built the store in the area of the Google office in Dublin. The store is meant to be freely available to any visitors and customers.
Retail trade is likely to be the new competition battlefield between Google and Apple. At the present time Apple has 361 stores, in which they offer their products. Google is currently in the process of buying the mobile phone manufacturer Motorola for 12.5 billion dollars. So the technology giant will directly compete in this market segment with Apple and Microsoft.
Google already sells products carrying their logo in the company’s headquarters in California, but not everyone can access the shop freely. Costumers can purchase goods with the Google logo on them from the website www.googlestore.com. The office of Google in Dublin is the largest outside the U.S. The building was bought by the corporation in March last year, the transaction sum has not been revealed yet.
